Breakfast Powers Opportunity
Free school breakfasts are key to powering children and young people, and unleashing opportunity in every classroom across the country, allowing children to start the day, and the rest of their lives, off right.
The government now needs to act quickly, push forward the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, and set out a full implementation plan for long-term school breakfast provision.

My family are from Fermanagh in Northern Ireland and I grew up in Dagenham. My mum often used to invite children into our house for beans on toast after school. I remember watching them eating with urgency. My mum used to say they didn’t have enough at home to keep them going. That stayed with me.
