At Magic Breakfast, we know that all career plans start at school. And all school days should start with breakfast!
That’s why we love our Aspiration Days. The Aspiration Days are speed networking events during which volunteers from one of our corporate partners go into a Magic Breakfast partner school and speak with their students about their careers, educational journeys, and the world of work.
The aim of the event is to give young people a more nuanced understanding of the employment landscape and help them understand all the different educational and career paths they could take. The event is also a wonderful opportunity for the children and young people to practise their communication skills and meet interesting and inspiring adults whom they might not otherwise have the chance to speak with.
We’re fortunate to work with a wide variety of corporate partners, with lots of employees who kindly volunteer their time to make these days happen. Whether the students are unsure what their career will look like, or whether they need a roadmap to help make it happen, our volunteers have a wealth of knowledge to share.
I learnt that a restaurant isn’t just waiters and chefs, it’s much more! It was fun to hear what happens behind the scenes and all the skills you need for certain jobs.”
