Both Sophie and Fiona were supported with breakfast at school, and now as young adults will be bringing their expertise, views and knowledge to our board of trustees as work continues to eradicate morning hunger amongst children and young people.

Lindsey MacDonald, Magic Breakfast’s CEO says: “I am delighted to welcome both Sophie and Fiona as advisors to our Board of Trustees.  The insight and lived experience that they both have alongside being young women at university and the start of their career means they bring a broader perspective to our board of trustees. In turn, we look forward to working with them both to develop their knowledge and understanding of charity governance, education policy, and the impact we deliver for children and young people. I am confident that the enthusiasm and ideas which Fiona and Sophie bring to the board, will ensure we can become even more effective and better positioned to stand up for children and young people. I am looking forward to working alongside Sophie, Fiona, our other board advisors and trustees as we take forward Magic Breakfast’s mission to ensure no child or young person is too hungry to learn.”

This seemed like a great opportunity to continue my relationship with Magic Breakfast whilst at the same time offering me the chance to develop further skills and knowledge alongside my degree course. I look forward to bringing my lived experience to the board, and I am really looking forward to learning from this opportunity which I feel will be collaborative and beneficial to all.  I can’t wait to get started.”
